Dreamscene for Linux

Linux is a computer operating system. It is one of the most outstanding examples of free software. It is installed in a variety of computing hardware ranging from mobiles phones, to supercomputers and embedded devices. There are several companies which are involved in the distribution and development of Linux operating system. There are also countless more who offer their financial support, such as Dell, Nokia, Hewlett-Packard, Red Hat, Novell, Oracle Corporation and IBM. Linux is simply an operating system, much the same as Vista or XP, these too are also operating systems. Vista is an operating system which runs a programme called dreamscene videos, these are basically videos which run on your desktop.

Most people have wallpaper on there desktop but usually this wallpaper is static. With Vista you can run a windows dreamscene which brings the dream/or wallpaper to life. For example: Say you wanted to have fish in the sea on your desktop, you can get screensavers whereby fish swim round on your screen when your computer is idle, but the images of the fish are by no means realistic and as soon as you move your mouse the fish are gone. With a dreamscene video you can have these fish on your desktop at all times, to even when your computer is in use with the desktop on, you can still see the fish swimming round on your screen. You can have any number of dreams, if you are a star trek fanatic then you can have the starship enterprise flying across your windows dreamscene, or if you wanted to visit the edge of eternity you could have this on your desktop at all times. Maybe you want to witness evolution or take a look at the moon, you can do this by having a dreamscene video of this downloaded onto your desktop. By having a windows dreamscene on your computer it makes your computer unique to you. If you want to change your dream you can do this also. There are hundreds of dreams you could choose from. It is hopeful that Linux as an operating system will be able to offer these dreams too in the future. If this is the case then you could also have your dreams put direct on to your mobile phone. Which would be the ultimate. Imaging having your very own dreamscene on your mobile, you could choose one which would be distinctive to you, the individual. I already have an operating system on my computer which is compatible with windows dreamscene, my hope is that people who have not got a computer which is compatible with dreamscene, will see that by loading on an alternative operating system such as Linux will enable them too to have a dreamscene video of their own. I would not be without my animated wallpaper. I find it relaxing when I have five minutes to spare from my work, and it adds character to my workstation which would otherwise by quite mundane.
